Applying for Admission

The application process for the 2017 Summer Scholar program will open on October 1, 2016.  The application deadline will be January 31, 2017. Admission decisions will be communicated to applicants by March 1, 2017.

Please note, international applicants must currently study full time at a US institution, and hold a valid F1 visa both at the time of application and during the program dates, June 5 - August 11, 2017.

A complete application must include:

  • Application form
    The application form opened on October 1. On-line application form available here. Please have your resume, transcript, and personal statement in PDF ready to be uploaded prior to beginning this form, as you cannot save and return to it.
  • Personal Statement
    A one page summary of your educational program objectives and your long-range professional goals. Describe research, educational and personal experiences that you consider relevant to your career goals. Please prepare in PDF format.
  • Transcripts
    We require transcripts from each college or university you have attended. Unofficial transcripts or a PDF copy of official transcripts are acceptable.  
  • Letters of Recommendation
    Use as respondents individuals who can make the most meaningful comments about your qualifications for a career in your chosen field of study. At least two reference letters (but no more than three) should be submitted via this electronic form directly by your recommenders (link to the form will become active on October 1, 2016). PDF format is required.
  • Resume
    A resume should include: academic and professional honors, work experience, volunteer experience, leadership experience. Please prepare in PDF format.

The application and supporting documents must be submitted electronically by the January 31 application deadline, late materials will not be accepted.
