Research Focus

How foodborne pathogens contaminate and survive in foods. I use genomics and transcriptomics to identify features that allow foodborne pathogens, chiefly Listeria monocytogenes, to overcome several stress situations found in food processing environments and foods. I also maintain the Listeria monocytogenes strain 10403S database at Biocyc.org.
